We Won!!!!

February 27, 2009 - 13 Comments - Posted in: Competition, Fun Times, School

All week I’ve been at practice everyday at school and for the past two months maybe two and a half? I don’t know but it paid off because today we had our competition and we won! Even though the other team totally stole our entire dance, we still won. And I have to admit our outfits were amazing too. hehe I think I lost my voice because I was screaming so much and rooting for my team that my throat hurts so much now. My hands too, they were dying! After every game my hands hurt and were so red! When I tried  to close my hands it was ridiculous how much it hurt. I can’t say much more because it’s midnight and I have two tests to study for, but I won! And no joke we were so good!

I did other events too also. I did volleyball and they didn’t put me in! Well it was really short for some reason. It was about five minutes but it was still fun. I didn’t wanna start because I was nervous but I killed everyone practicing before the game. And the second I was about to go in for someone, IT ENDED! Oh well, at least my team won right? That’s it for now! Peace out!

New Layout!

February 19, 2009 - 34 Comments - Posted in: New Layout!, Updates, Website

I made a new layout! Finally! I’ve had my other layout up for months and finally a new layout! Now that doesn’t mean I’m lazy and didn’t want to make a new layout. I just loved my last layout dearly which is why it was up so long. If I didn’t love it, it would’ve been down in a day. But I spent quite a long time on this layout and I must say, I love this one too. But no layout will ever compare to my last. It took a good two hours to make! And I’m proud to say it really did take two hours because that’s how long my call to my friends was. haha. But please leave your honest opinion! I’d like to know if my hard work was worth it or not!

You Kids And Your Texting!

February 17, 2009 - 8 Comments - Posted in: Life, Old People

Geez. Old people can be so irritating. Or at least the people who didn’t grow up in the “technology era”. It’s weird because in the last 5 years technology has improved so much and the older generation is irritated I guess because it seems like every day new technology is being introduced and kids can easily use them but the older people can’t. Like seriously 5 years ago maybe less, there were still those “fat” computers with the huge monitors out, VCR’s, “fat” iPods, and cell phones with antennas. If you really think about it technology has really improved!

For example, when I had my first cell phone in 5th grade? Well it wasn’t necessarily “fat” but it was around the same size as the enV and it had an antenna with a poor LCD background. Like there was no color and it wasn’t bright. I don’t know how else to describe it but it was nothing like phones now. Now everyone needs something with a keyboard, like kids need it for texting and some adults need it for business. Same thing with computers. Just a few years ago there were “fat” computers with huge monitors and nowadays everything has to be flat screen or you’re seen as uncool.

Ehh, well it doesn’t really matter what schools are using but my point is that it’s getting really harder for the older generation because new technology is coming out everyday and it’s harder for them to use! Like with iPods; doesn’t a new iPod come out every few months claiming it’s so much better than the last? I have to admit I like getting the latest and newest things that come out but it’s sorta ridiculous that they come out with a new iPod every few months claiming it’s the newest and best out there.

And getting to my title. Texting, every once and an adult goes and asks me, “What’s so great about texting? Why do I see kids everywhere texting like crazy? What’s so good about it?”. Well usually my answer to that is a simple “I don’t know!” haha. But there are pros and cons to everything and texting is no exception. I don’t know why kids love texting so much but there are adults who text too so don’t just label kids with texting! It’s easier than talking on the phone because when you call someone, your phone call can last hours and that’s what usually happens to me but when you text you can get to the point easily without killing all of your minutes.

Also, with texting it’s like instant messaging without the computer or a laptop. It’s like im-ing with a mini computer. Some adults ask me how come the second you get a text you need to reply instantly. Well it depends on the person and on the situation. Sometimes you have to reply fast or sometimes you don’t. I don’t wanna get into this whole big ginormus blog about replying fast because that would be useless but some adults need to get with the program and realize the world is changing. Technology will always be around and there will be things you won’t understand why people need but use anyways.

Happy Valentines Day!

February 13, 2009 - 17 Comments - Posted in: Fun Times, Holidays, School

Ahh, Spring. I would have to say my favorite time of the year next to Fall. It really is the best because it’s not too hot and not too cold. It’s only February but it’s been really nice out here and it’s sunny and warm. This week especially has been great because this is the week everything changed and became totally amazing out. And I don’t need a jacket anymore! I think that’s one of the high points so far. haha. A jacket really is a pain though! haha. Plus, when I walk across campus to get to class it’s just amazing how great the weather is in February and we’re allowed to go outside during lunch again!

Also, Happy Valentines Day to everyone! I hope everyone has an amazing Valentines Day and spends it with loved ones! I had a great day before Valentines Day in school. I got tons and candy and gifts and think I’m gonna explode from all of it. Even though it didn’t seem like it because it’s Friday the 13th and it’s the last day before break (next week I have off!!!! :]) and everyone just wanted to go home. I definitely did after a month of dance after school which is over next week! Yay! lol Well, dance is fun it’s just time consuming and I never get any sleep during the week. But I’ll be able to get tons during my break! BTW my performance is when I come back after break! I can’t wait!

But one high point of my day was math class. My teacher is one of the toughest teachers in my school but one of the best and funnest. Well only in my class. haha. And my class only has 11 people and there are 3 girls and we made a Valentines Day card during Spanish for him and filled it with quotes from him and our class. Our class is the only one where he’s fun in. :] And when we gave it to him, he absolutely loved it and I made him hang it up in the front of the room for everyone to see. haha. It was great. So here’s where the blog ends, I hope everyone has a great holiday! Until next time! Oh and feel free to take my gift! I’ll be returning comments asap!

It’s Never Gonna Be The Same

February 8, 2009 - 20 Comments - Posted in: Fun Times, Life, Website

It seems like whenever I come back from a break from the site i never seem to be on. It’s weird because when I first started out I had such a pride in my site and ambition to keep it going strong and to be the best out there but I think that’s died down. I still want my site to be great and I’m very proud of my site, it’s just that it’s not the same as I started out. I guess it’s that when I started it was summer and I had the time to make my website the best it can be and I could choose when and whether I should or not.

But now I have school and I never have time and I guess that’s why that ambition died down because I felt like I had to do these things like update and add new content. It’s never gonna be that same feeling as when I started out because I know more and I know that even if I want it to be that way again it won’t. I don’t know if you gets even get what I’m talking about but I guess it’s more of an internal thing with myself.

But it’s not like I’m sitting at home doing nothing. I’m so busy and I wish I had time to keep up with my site. I have so many after school commitments that just take all my time that I only have time to check up on my email even though I never seem to reply. haha. Lets see, after school I go and get a quick bite to eat with some friends because they’re are so many food places behind my school, go back to school for 2 and a half hours, hang out with some friends, go home and do homework, and then watch all my shows like Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill that I can’t miss! And then when that’s over my day’s over and there’s no time for Hopeless Thunder. :( But this is gonna be a new commitment and that is to keep up with the site, affiliates, and be the person I was when I first started out.
