“Their sound is infectious” like “The Killers meet Phoenix”? No I don’t agree dear press release. “Silhouettes” is indeed infectious — that I can get on board with. But to be honest, I think to make a comparison like that (to a degree) pigeonhole’s the music that Colony House are making. I think the Nashville trio are on their own caliber, making songs that are wildly attention-grabbing whether it’s a slower song like “Waiting For My Time To Come” or foot stompers with addictive choruses like “Silhouettes”. And no matter the speed of the song, Colony House’s tracks always have a lot going on but they manage to reel in your attention with Caleb Chapman’s commanding vocal delivery.
This versatile band just recently played in New York and while I wasn’t there—and boy do I wish I were—I can only imagine that their set was an absolute party, especially if “Silhouettes” was played. The track comes off the band’s upcoming debut LP, When I Was Younger, out July 22 via Descendant Records. Watch the very fitting music video here.
Colony House is Caleb Chapman, Will Chapman, Scott Mills.
