“Hold me down and never let me go.”In six short days, Drowners’ are releasing their debut Self-Titled LP via Frenchkiss Records, but if you’re not willing to wait until then, the album is streaming in full over on Rolling Stone! Funny, I didn’t know Rolling Stone posted anything relevant about music anymore. Ba dum tss. Drowners were so great when I saw them open for SKATERS at Bowery Ballroom a few months ago, so having a full album from the band is going to be such auditory pleasure.
Above is the band’s gem of a music video for “Luv, Hold Me Down,” which according to Matt Hitt is heartbreakingly about “Some bird I fancied who didn’t fancy me back, like most of them.” Aw babe, don’t be sad. The world doesn’t have enough leather to wipe away those tears. Cheer up, you’ve got an album release show to prepare for!
Drowners is Matt Hitt, Jack Ridley, Erik Snyder.
