Old Man Canyon: “Wiser” Video

with No Comments

If you are like me and little adorable children with teddy bear backpacks who embark on adventures (without parental supervision!) to the woods is your kryptonite, then Old Man Canyon’s music video for “Wiser” is just the thing for you.

Except 0:52. That was not for me. That bug was nasty. I did not find that bug magical.

The rest of the music video however was magical. It nicely complemented the song, bringing forth the nostalgic idea of a time when everything seemed full of wonder. We follow a young boy’s journey as he goes in search for the woods, as drawn out on his treasure map. And along the way, while he may get lost here and there, we’re able to see the awe and fascination on his face. “The journey’s been long, I’ve learned and I’ve lost on the way, Go and be who you are, Shine like the sun on the stars” Jett Pace knowingly sings, sounding as if his own journey has been a long one. “Wiser” is a great track that follows in the message of the many songs before it that also tackle life’s journey: as time goes on, our experiences cause us to become more perceptive of the world around us, understanding more that we wouldn’t have without the journey.

Old Man Canyon is Jett Pace, Josh Contant, Mike Turner, Dave Meszaros.
