Kayla and I have wanted to visit the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey for months and we were finally able to visit it this summer. This particular aquarium has a shark tunnel and so naturally I double-dog-dared Kayla to wear her shark onesie in the tunnel for a funny photo. Our shame got the best of us so the shark onesie photo didn't happen, but we did end up spending a lot of time gazing at the sharks swimming past us in the tunnel. The videos and photos of shark tunnels I've seen elsewhere online in no way compares to the first-hand experience of being in a shark tunnel. It was my first time being in one and the experience was beyond words. Being so close to the sharks allowed me to view them in such detail that it floored me. It had been at least a year since my last aquarium visit and in that time, I completely forgot the magnitude of a shark's body. We also saw the biggest sea turtle I've ever seen, plenty of various types of fish, and touched sting rays, sharks, sea stars, and a blue lobster while we roamed the aquarium.
With our aquarium ticket, we also had the opportunity to take the Riverlink Ferry to Penn's Landing. It was a quick trip across the Delaware River and when we arrived, Kayla and I walked over to Independence National Historical Park. We saw all the cute historic buildings and stopped by The Little Lion for lunch. On the way home, we realized that in a single day, we were in three states: New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania! That's what happens when you just wing it and don't plan anything, which is what always happens when Kayla and I hang out. Keep scrolling down for more photos and a video of our day.
