Sister Rose: “Passage of Arms”

with No Comments

I first heard “Passage of Arms” from Adelaide band, Sister Rose, back in February but held off from posting it—partly because I’m lazy and suck but also because this song screams summer. As lame as that sounds, the song sounds otherwise. It’s harmonica and punchy refrain of “Yeah we’re trying” pulsates throughout the song and resonates in Sister Rose’s brand of jangly power pop that will have your foot tapping along before you know it—even if its opening riff sounding strikingly similar to the Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love“. “Passage of Arms” is a fun, carefree song meant for summer playlists and car rides to the beach.

Sister Rose is Chris Callisto, Anthony Callisto, David Mazzarelli, Sammy Bruno.
