General, Website
Who runs this website?
There’s only one person behind Hopeless Thunder and that is I, Nancy Hoang. Hopeless Thunder will always be run by one person and I am not looking for people to help me run a personal blog.
Why haven’t you updated in forever?!
I’ve never been one to blog frequently, however I’m always updating the website. Whether it’s adding content or changing codes around, I’m always updating. It may not be big noticeable things but I’m never not doing something to this site.
What programs do you use?
- I use Paint Shop Pro mainly for graphics; Photoshop for when PSP is being slow.
- Core FTP to upload images and make tutorials.
- WordPress to run my website.
- PhotoFiltre for tutorial purposes.
- Notepad for coding.
- Camtasia Studio for video tutorials.
How do I become affiliates with you?
I don’t really like having affiliates. Business ventures can be discussed.
I’d like to do advertising with your website because la-di-da…
I prefer to not have advertising on my website. The only ads I have are in the footer of my website and that’s only to give my host free money.
Features
I’d like to be interviewed. How can I get in contact with you?
While I’d love to sit with you on the grass and chat it up about music and sneezing pandas while we eat my world famous cupcakes, life doesn’t always give you what you want. So take the boring route and hit me up with an email about your request and we’ll carry on from there. Or you can send me your rendition of Party In The USA by Miley Cyrus fully equipped with animal noises and you’ll get an automatic yes.
Can I post your interview/feature on my website?
I work really hard on those interviews and would appreciate an email first. Please mention that the interview was done by Nancy Hoang of Hopeless Thunder and include a link to my website. Please be considerate and don’t abuse my work.
Reviews
How can I get my album reviewed?
I prefer having albums sent to me digitally because it’s cheaper, quicker, and is easier for me to listen to. You can email me here with the following: artist name, album name, album cover, release date, label, a short bio, official links: website/facebook/etc, and state whether it is a full length, EP, or a single.
How long will the review take?
Typically from one day to a week, depending on my time schedule and amount of work for other commitments.
I sent you my MySpace link and you haven’t replied yet.
Because you sent me a MySpace link.
I don’t agree with your review on _. How can you say that about _?
Reviews are my own personal opinions and I will not fight you on my opinion. I’m not paid to say anything and am free to say what I think about the submission. If someone submits their music for review, I’m sure they’d like an honest answer and I hope I gave them it.
Will you review my website?
No. I’m way too particular when it comes to websites and I can be very judgmental. I’m never happy with my own website and am constantly changing things around so I cannot see myself reviewing a website without criticizing every minute detail.
Resources & Tutorials
Can you do a tutorial for _?
You can submit tutorial requests, here.
Can you make a video tutorial for _?
You can submit video tutorial requests, here.
Can you make more _?
I can always try to make more of a certain resource but it’s so time consuming, I don’t know if I can. You can make specific requests and I’ll try my best.
Can you recreate this coloring?
If you want me to recreate a coloring, you must submit the original image and the edited image together. I will try my best to recreate it for you but I make no promises that it will be exact.
Will you make me a _?
No. I don’t do personal requests. I’m a full time student and this website is a hobby. I provide a huge amount of tutorials that can help you make or find inspiration for your graphic.
I have a MySpace problem/request…
Stop right there. I know nothing about the workings of MySpace, how to make layouts (they’re always changing their format), and coding those MySpace divs. I’m just not the right person to come to when it comes to MySpace.
You took down _, can you put it back up?
If I ever take any content down from my website, it’s because I wasn’t happy with it. I’m very critical of my website and want everything in tip-top shape. If I’m not satisfied with it, I’ll take it down. If something has been taken down, I don’t know if I’ll ever put it back up but I’ll try my best to revamp things.
